iPad mini and fourth generation iPad now up for pre-order

As was announced by Apple, the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad are now up for pre-order on over 20 countries. These include the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Sweden, Austria, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and many more.

The fourth generation tablet which is even known as the iPad with Retina display has a 9.7-inch multi-touch screen on the front panel along with a 1.2MP camera for FaceTime calls. On the flip side is a 5MP iSight camera, capable of recording high definition videos. The A6X chipset has been integrated into the tablet, while it takes advantage of the iOS 6 platform. Some of its other attributes are Wi-Fi, LTE connectivity and a battery life of close to 10 hours on a single charge amongst others.

Next up is the younger sibling of this 9.7-inch slab that goes by the name iPad mini. With a screen size of 7.9 inches it looks forward to take on tablets like Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire. This LED backlit IPS display offers 1024 x 768p resolution. It is armed with dual cameras too – a 1.2MP FaceTime webcam and a 5MP imager on the rear panel. Wi-Fi versions of both Apple devices are now up for pre-order, while the Wi-Fi + cellular variants will hit availability status soon.

The iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad can now be reserved through the Apple online stores, retail stores and some authorized dealers.
