The Apple iPad 2 is up on sale through the regional big-box retailer Meijer’s stores in the U.S. The reseller is offering a discount of $70 on the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the slate, bringing the price down to $429.
Although Appleinsider states that the sale will be valid from February 12 to February 18, the official website mentions it is on until February 25. Also, users can only avail of the deal through stores. And not only the iPad 2, the retailer also stocks up on accessories like the Smart Cover, which is available for $35 as opposed to $40 from Apple. Additionally, a $15 iTunes gift card is being offered with the 8GB iPod touch worth $195.
The tablet encased in a form factor with a thickness of about 0.34 inches, tips the scale at 1.33 pounds. The easy-to-carry slab can be used for a number of purposes such as reading books, watching movies, browsing the internet and more. Its front panel is graced by a 9.7-inch LED backlit display featuring IPS technology and the back side is dotted with a camera to capture memories in the form of still shots and videos. It also comes with a front facing camera to facilitate video conferencing over the web.
Powered by the dual core A5 chip, the iOS device is capable of coughing up the juice to carry out uninterrupted computing for about 10 hours. The 16GB device communicates with other gadgets with the help of its Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology and ensures wireless access to the internet through the integrated 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi.
The 16GB iPad 2 price at Meijer is $429 (approx. Rs. 21,100). The offer is valid only in stores for a limited period of time.
