The price in India of the iPad mini has surfaced through various e-retailers and the official Apple website confirms that the device is indeed coming soon. Although it was already up for sale in the country through eBay, the company hadn’t mentioned anything about an official launch until now. Also, the fourth generation iPad will follow its sibling as the web portal says that the 9.7-inch slab is slated to make its appearance too.
Available in Wi-Fi only and Cellular + Wi-Fi variants, the device comes with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB internal storage. The tablet with dimensions of 200 x 134.7 x 7.2 millimeters, weighs approximately 312 grams. Its front panel is graced by a 7.9-inch diagonal LED-backlit multi-touch IPS display and is coated with an oleophobic film for resisting fingerprints. The screen can project visuals in 1024 x 768p resolution with a pixel density of 163ppi.
The iPad mini boasts of as many as 200 new features that tag along with the iOS 6 platform and it allows users to launch multiple applications at the same time with a little assistance from the dual core A5 chip. A 1.2MP HD webcam sits on the front side to facilitate FaceTime calls and a 5MP auto focus snapper with a BSI sensor and the ability to record 1080p videos lays claim over the back panel. The slate’s 16.3Wh lithium-polymer battery offers web browsing time of about 10 hours over Wi-Fi.
As far as the iPad with Retina display is concerned, it continues to build up on the success of its predecessors and employs a 9.7-inch diagonal LED-backlit IPS touchscreen of 2048 x 1536p resolution with a pixel density of 264ppi. An oleophobic coating to withstand fingerprints has also been reinforced on it. This iOS 6-powered device gains steam from the A6X chipset and is fueled by a 42.5Wh lithium-polymer battery. It is also the proud owner of dual cameras.
The cost of the iPad mini has been revealed by Saholic. Its 16GB Wi-Fi variant costs Rs. 21,900, while the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular will set users back by Rs. 29,900. Its shipping date is yet to be announced by Apple.
