The Lenovo IdeaPad A1, IdeaPad K1, and ThinkPad tablets were unveiled today by the company at a press event we attended in Mumbai, India. These tablets gracefully expand the line-up of such devices by the company which is intended to suit the needs of various consumers.
The first in this family of tablets is the 7-inch IdeaPad A1. Weighing merely 420g, this gadget is available in various colors and has a battery life of up to 5 hours. Integrated with Bluetooth, 3G, and Wi-Fi connectivity, this device also sports a 3MP camera on the rear side and a 0.3MP front facing one for video calling. Running on the Android 2.3 operating system, this gadget supports 10.2 Flash content as well. Also, Lenovo SocialTouch is brought into use to manage all social networking engagements on a single, user-friendly interface.
Embedded with an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 tablet flaunts a curvy, elegant design with a glossy back. Along with 3G and Wi-Fi, it offers enhanced connectivity options like a mini HDMI port to allow viewing content in high definition on a television. Other features of the gadget include the Android 3.1 operating system, total battery life of 10 hours, cloud sharing and more. The 1.7lbs device is even integrated with a 5MP rear and a 2MP front facing camera.
Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet is enhanced with IPS technology and has a viewing angle of 178 degrees. To enable users to access mails securely, the slate offers Cisco VPN support Control device security with Active Directory Password, Microsoft ActiveSync integration and encrypted user data and SD cards. Incorporated with Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core ARM processor, the tablet shows off a front facing 2MP camera and offers a battery life of up to 8.7 hours over Wi-Fi use.
The 16GB Lenovo IdeaPad A1 is priced at Rs. 16,990 onwards, while the 32GB IdeaPad K1 with Wi-Fi starts retailing at Rs. 29,990. The 64GB model of the ThinkPad tablet with 3G can be picked for a price of around Rs. 46,990.
