Hagiwara 1-inch HDF10P with 2.5-inch solid state drive technology

Hagiwara HDF10P Series The latest announcement by Hagiwara Sys-Com talks about its new HDF10P 1-inch drives which incorporate the 2.5-inch solid state drive technology, says Electronista.

The HDF10P offers up to 8GB storage capacity while the 16GB version will supposedly make it later this year. This solid state / non-volatile data storage device features Single-Level Cell (SLC) NAND Flash Technology that is based on the Hagiwara proprietary TrueSSD controller.

With a PATA interface, its sustained read and write speeds are rated at 39MBps and 25MBps respectively plus the small form factor makes them apt for netbooks and other mini-portable computing devices.

The HDF10P also features Intelligent Multi-segment Cache Algorithm and is quite reliable with independent ECC decoder/encoder for each memory channel, enhanced S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and static wear-leveling. The security features include software trigger secure erase, write protection and password-based drive access.

There is no word on the pricing and availability.
