Transcend has unveiled its new stylish and portable solid state drive (SSD) called the SSD18. It is a totally new and flexible device that offers durability and speed along with the solid state technology.
The fashionably designed portable state drive is just 1.8 inch and has a high capacity storage. It is made of NAND flash memory that does not contain any moving parts. It is a light weight device weighing just 50g and measuring just about 80mm x 50mm x 12.5mm. The glossy diamond pattern outlook distinguishes it from other devices while the compact form factor allows the SSD18 to easily fit in a user’s pocket or purse.
The SSD18 drive has two interface options. The first one is eSATA interface that enables users with maximum read speed of 90MB/s and write speed of 50MB/s. The second one is the USB 2.0 interface that will allow users to connect the drive with any type of desktops, PCs and laptops.
The Transcend SSD18 drive is available in 32GB, 64BG and 128GB capacities with a two year warranty as well as a global service network support. There is no word on its price yet.
