Super Talent launches Enterprise Class UltraDrive LE and ME SSDs

Super Talent UltraDrive

Super Talent Technology has introduced its UltraDrive range solid state to meets the demands of the enterprise servers and data centers. The series comprises of UltraDrive LE and UltraDrive ME solid state drives.

Based on the SLC NAND Flash, the new line of solid state drives from Super Talent comes in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256 GB storage capacities.

Said to be the world’s speediest SATA hard drives, the UltraDrive LE has read/write speeds of 230/170 MB per second and supports very high transaction speeds (IOPS). Furthermore, it also promises to utilize less power and generate less heat while outperforming 10,000 RPM hard drives.

“The UltraDrive LE represents a quantum leap forward in storage performance that is simply staggering. It excels in every metric that’s relevant to data centers: sequential and random read and write speeds, transaction rates and access and seek times. It also has a considerable advantage over 10,000 RPM hard drives in power consumption and MTBF. This product sets a new standard in enterprise storage” noted Super Talent Chief Operating Officer, C.H. Lee.

Coming to the solid state drive, the UltraDrive ME boasts to deliver the fastest available 2.5-inch internal storage solution. Developed for SATA-II notebooks, it provides a sequential read/write speeds up to 200/160 MB per second.

Both the UltraDrive LE and ME SSDs are expected to be available in January 2009. Price is yet to be announced.
