LG LSM 100 Mouse Scanner

After Brando, here comes another peripheral with a strange combination, the LG LSM-100 mouse scanner is a competent mouse integrated with scanning capabilities. With its compact form factor and added functionalities, it boasts of saving precious time and space.

The multi-tasking peripheral comes across as innovative as well as convenient. An exclusive technology developed by the company has been incorporated into the mouse. This scanning function of the device is touted to be at par with traditional scanners while it has an added advantage of a small factor for ease of use.

The device is embedded with a Smart Scan button on its left side. Users need to hold this button while swiping the mouse over the material to be scanned. Furthermore, the image can be stored in a number of file types such as PNG, TIFF, JPEG, DOC, PDF or XLS or even dragged into the application. Moreover, it supports faster pass-over rates for quick scanning of large documents.

What’s more, the mouse is integrated with the LG Optical Character Recognition technology which is capable of saving scanned text as a Microsoft Word file. This facilitates editing the text while negating the need to retype the entire copy. The compact peripheral allows scanning most page sizes including A3.

Although it possesses added functionalities, the mouse is said to be apt to carry out basic operations. Its laser sensor ensures accuracy in navigation whereas the ergonomic design should be comfortable and provide a firm grip. It is geared up to be exhibited at the IFA 2011 in Berlin this September.
