Corsair SP2500

Corsair’s highly overclocked, low voltage memory kit Dominator GT has been meticulously crafted using the signature racing-red livery. The company has now announced its new family of desktop speakers designed mainly for gaming enthusiasts. The Gaming Audio Series SP2500 and SP2200 high-power 2.1 speaker systems augment the overall audio experience.

The SP2500 speakers flaunt bi-amplified two-way satellites with 1-inch ferro-cooled silk dome tweeters and 3-inch midrange drivers. It also sports a 8-inch subwoofer using a fourth-order bandpass enclosure to render impeccable audio for gaming, music and movies. The SP2500 offers more than 230 watts RMS of output power to deliver excellent sound without distortion.

“We designed the Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 to meet the unique needs of gaming audio, without compromising music and movie fidelity. A gaming PC often doubles as an audio jukebox and Blu-ray player, and now there’s a high-performance speaker system that can deliver amazing audio in games, music, and movies.” commented Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager for Components at Corsair. “Gamers simply don’t have to compromise. With the SP2500, we’ve built an intelligent speaker system that raises the bar in PC audio, from both an acoustic and an electronic perspective.”

The SP2500 comes equipped with a digital signal processor, six Class-D amplifiers and active digital crossovers. It also features a wired remote with 3.5mm color LCD display that delights users with enhanced control. Owners can select their input source, control volume and subwoofer levels, and access pre-set EQs and DSP programs using the controller. Further, individuals can connect the SP2500 to any sound card or audio source through the 3.5mm stereo jack and stereo RCA jacks. The two additional 3.5mm aux-in jacks permit owners to connect their iPod or other external audio sources with utmost ease. This controller also sports a 3.5mm headphone out jack.

The SP2200 delivers 46 watts RMS of total output power and features two satellites with 2-inch full-range drives and a 6-inch ported subwoofer. This device can be connected to any audio source and console gaming systems using a 3.5mm stereo or RCA input jack. The offering also comes with 3.5mm stereo jacks for headphone out and aux-in.

The Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 will be available in late January, while the SP2200 speaker is expected to hit stores in late Q1 2011 via the company’s worldwide network of authorized distributors and resellers.
