Gone are the days where people had to spend a huge sum of cash to access a high-speed internet connection. Edimax Technologies has announced the expansion of its range of wireless-N routers in the Indian market with the latest release, called the BR-6574n broadband router.
Said to be a Gigabit Ethernet router, it supports dual band options and the ‘n’ Max Wireless 802.11n connectivity. This certainly brings a ray of hope for a high-speed connection to view and stream content wirelessly. It claims to offer a fast performance of up to 300Mbps.
With a vision to offer optimum performance, the BR-6574n comes with two transmission modes, namely 11n 2.4GHz with 11b/g and 11n 5GHz with 11a/b/g, to choose from. Moreover, it is equipped with one WAN and four LAN 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports. Both the above mentioned features work together to offer outstanding connectivity even at places where the 2.4GHz bandwidth may become overcrowded. These features even resolve issues like slow or intermittent connection problems while playing online games.

Furthermore, it is compatible with multi-language EZmax setup wizard for easy setup of internet connection, ESSID, wireless security and firmware upgrade. It supports Edimax EZView management, DDNS, DMZ, Virtual Server and QoS. It offers Jumbo Frame support, WPS to ensure easy and secure set-up and WMM (WiFi Multimedia) to allow QoS settings for prioritization of wireless data.
Offering a multi-level security with multiple SSIDs, the latest broadband router allows a mixture of WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption levels and at the same time it maintains the highest individual security level.
Plus, the inclusion of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) enables effortless opening of a port in the firewall of the router that further helps for networked gaming or streaming playback software.
Backed by a limited three-year warranty, the Edimax BR-6574n Wireless IEEE802.11 b/g/n Gigabit Broadband Router is available now through all Edimax authorized retail stores. It is priced at Rs. 9,755 and distributed by Jupiter International and Neoteric Informatiq in India.
