AMD Eyefinity with multi-display technology

AMD Eyefinity Chipset

After the successful launch of their Opteron EE processors at the beginning of this month, AMD is back with a brain storming demonstration. According to Cnet, AMD has now displayed a new graphics chipset called the Eyefinity. This chipset is destined to be a part of the ATI Radeon family.

The Eyefinity incorporates multi-display technology. This technology has been designed to support up to six high definition displays. It also claims to achieve up to twelve times 1080p high-definition resolution images. The chipset is said to create virtual environments that are so detailed that they seem optically real.

The chipset provides a resolution of around 268pixels. This resolution is approximately equivalent to the resolution of a 90 degree arc of the human vision. The Eyefinity can be used with two kinds of setups. The first is an immersive setup in which a single user uses many displays while in the second several users can use the centralized computer for different tasks.

The Eyefinity is said to be the chipset of the future. It will provide users with various advanced features. There is no official word on the release date of the AMD Eyefinity. The pricing details are also under wraps.
