Gigabyte launches P55 series motherboards

Gigabyte has released a new series of motherboards called the Gigabyte P55 series. Featuring a host of advanced functions and the industry’s first ever 24 phase VRM design, these motherboards promise to deliver enhanced performance. The series also claims to be energy efficient.

The Gigabyte motherboards are said to include the innovative Smart6 PC management tools and the Dynamic Energy Saver2 for better performance. These devices also offer support for Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7 processors and 2 channel, DDR3 memory. The Turbo Boost Technology automatically reduces the power supply of idle processors and reroutes the power to the active cores. The Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 technology includes 2 ounces of copper in the Power and Ground layers of the motherboard for improved efficiency.

The Smart QuickBoot speeds up the system’s boot process along with reducing the waiting time while the Smart QuickBoost ensures a quick and effortless CPU overclocking. The Smart Recovery ensures easy roll-back of the system settings. The Smart DualBIOS technology features a pair of physical BIOS ROMs that provide double protection to the motherboard. The other advanced technologies that these P55 motherboards include are Smart Recorder, Smart TimeLock, Smart TPM, Smart DualLAN, Auto Green, eXtreme Hard Drive, eSATA / USB Combo Connectors, Onboard Debug LEDs and Precision OV. The devices also offers support for Multi graphics ATI CrossFireX, Nvidia SLI and Dolby Home Theater system.

The Gigabyte P55 series motherboards include 11 different models and the features of these models may vary accordingly. The motherboards are now available in India via Avnet, Ingram Micro, Redington and Neoteric Infomatique Ltd. The pricing details of these products are still under wraps.
