Sierra Wireless expands AirCard lineup

Sierra Wireless AirCard 503 With a view to meet the dynamic demands of network operators, enterprises, and consumers worldwide, Sierra Wireless has expanded their AirCard lineup. The newly launched products include AirCard 503 data card and AirCard USB 308, AirCard USB 309, AirCard USB 301 and AirCard USB 302 modems. These second generation products claim to support HSPA+ technology. The HSPA+ technology is said to offer download speeds of up to 21Mbps.

The AirCard 503 data card is a convertible 2-in-1 card. This card is said to be compatible with both PC card and Express card slots. The low profile, compact antenna and resistant housing enable easy storage. The AirCard USB 308 and USB 309 modems flaunt an all new industrial design. The modems also promise to show performance improvements like faster browsing experience. The USB 308 supports 850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz HSPA+ while the USB 309 offers support for 900 and 2100MHz frequency bands.

The AirCard USB 301 and USB 302 provide network operators with consumer targeted devices that offer significant value without sacrificing quality.”

The AirCard USB 301 and USB 302 modems boast of their sharp new design and streamlined features. Both these modems offer download speeds of 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of 5.76Mbps when used with HSPA network. The USB 301 supports 850 and 2100 MHz HSPA frequencies, while the USB 302 supports 900 and 2100 MHz frequencies. These modems are also supported by Sierra Wireless Watcher connection manager software. The other features include microSD card slot and external antenna connector to support reception.

The Sierra Wireless AirCard lineup products are expected to start shipping in the last quarter of this year. The pricing details of these products are still under wraps.
