Nokia Asha 500 feature phone’s price is tagged at Rs 4649, available unofficially

The Nokia Asha 500 dual SIM has appeared as expected before the end of December 2013, but we are yet to hear an official announcement for the same from the horse’s mouth. As of now, you can pick it up from Infibeam in shades of black and white. Variants drenched in colors like cyan, yellow, green and red are currently not in stock. We haven’t seen the gadget on the Nokia eStore as yet though.

This Asha phone is especially meant for users who are not too keen on getting a smartphone and would rather go for a Nokia feature phone. Like its siblings, the Asha 502 and 503, the handset in question has a crystal clear casing which is said to be pretty durable. The 500 is a full touchscreen device that offers a viewing real estate of 2.8 inches.

The LCD transflective display with an aspect ratio of 4:3 can render visuals of 240 x 320p resolution. It tags along a couple of essential sensors and features such as tactile feedback, low power mode, Nokia Glance screen and screen double tap to name a few. And what’s more, the handset makes the most of the Nokia Asha software platform 1.1.1.

Like most of the Asha phones, this gadget gives you access to the internet and even supports instant messaging applications like WhatsApp, WeChat, Line and more. A 2MP fixed focus camera lays claim over the rear panel and you even get a microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes. The responsibility of keeping it charged for a long time has been assigned to a 1200mAh battery.

The Nokia Asha 500 is available now through Infibeam for Rs 4,649.
