With the dawn of the New Year, Boost Mobile has brought in Samsung Replenish, a new handset to rev up its collection of Android smartphones. The network operator has also introduced some special money-saving offers in an attempt to make this release more attractive.

The device operates on the Gingerbread mobile platform, and is being promoted as an economical Samsung smartphone option from Boost Mobile. Apart from this, it also makes an attempt at wooing eco-friendly users as it is made partially out of recycled plastic. Wrapped with a price tag of under $100, this ‘green’ handset is being offered sans any contract.

“Consumers are smarter about where and how their money is being spent, and Boost Mobile offers a considerable value,” explains Andre Smith, vice president-Boost Mobile. “We offer first-class affordable Android smartphones, like the Samsung Replenish, on a reliable network with a no-contract offer that has payments that shrink over time.”

In a bid to combine the functionalities of touch and type, the Replenish employs a 2.8-inch touchscreen paired with a QWERTY keypad. The rear panel is adorned by a 2MP camera which not only captures still images, but also records memories in the form of videos. Other than being GPS capable, the device is even integrated with stereo Bluetooth technology to enable easy sharing of multimedia content and other data.

The Boost Mobile Samsung Replenish price is $99.99 (approx. Rs. 5,280) and it is set to release on January 16. The phone can be purchased through the Buyback program which allows trading in old handsets, or by making payments of $55 (approx. Rs. 2,900) per month under the Android Monthly Unlimited plan with Shrinkage. As part of this plan, any six on-time payments will earn a discount of $5 (approx. Rs. 260) on all following monthly fees. Eventually, the charges can go down to as much $40 (approx. Rs. 2,220) per month.
