As 4G takes precedence over 3G in a lot of regions across the globe, carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile have been signing on board more and more devices meant to function with the next generation in wireless standards. The Samsung Galaxy S 4G is scheduled to hit T-Mobile customers in the forthcoming weeks.

“With Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile will deliver its fastest smartphone yet on America’s largest 4G network, providing rich entertainment virtually whenever and wherever consumers want. And with 4G data plans from $10 per month, we’re making blazing-fast 4G speeds and super smartphone experiences easily accessible to the millions who crave them,” cited Cole Brodman, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile USA.

Neither T-Mobile, nor Samsung have furnished more than a meager amount of information on the smartphone. Powered by Android 2.2 or Froyo, the handset will be fitted with a Super AMOLED touchscreen. What’s more, this HSPA+ technology enabled device is touted to be the carrier’s first ever offering that’s capable of extending theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21MB/s.

Unfortunately, T-Mobile has refused to part with the definite availability date and pricing plans for the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. So we’ll just have to patiently wait and watch for more information to emerge in the coming weeks.
