The recently released Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone running on the Android 4.0 platform has set its foot in the UK via Clove. The 16GB variant of this Ice Cream Sandwich based mobile device carries a price tag of £429 though the 32GB variant will not be available in the UK as of now.

The Galaxy Nexus is the first handset to run on the Google Android 4.0 platform. This stylishly designed curvy smartphone with contour glass display sports a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen.

Fitted with dual cameras, the front-facing 1.3MP camera is accompanied with a rear-facing 5MP snapper which possesses LED flash and shoots videos of resolution 1080p. This NFC certified device comes with the exclusive Android Beam feature which simplifies sharing content including contacts, apps, websites and more. Connectivity attributes such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi too have been incorporated in the smartphone.

The Wi-Fi Direct of this handset negates the need for an internet connection for syncing it with other mobile devices. Additionally, the 3G enabled Galaxy Nexus comes with Face Unlock to avoid possibilities of unauthorized access to personal data. Moreover, it can be connected to peripherals through the microUSB port or with the help of the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The 16GB Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone priced at £429 (approx. Rs. 29,610) is now up for pre-order through Clove in the UK and is expected to start shipping in November.
