Android-powered Sony Ericsson Xperia pro smartphone hits stores this month

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Smartphone Showcased in February this year, the Sony Ericsson Xperia pro smartphone has geared up for its release in October. The smartphone featuring a slide-out QWERTY keypad will be available in three color options namely, red, black and silver.

The device is fitted with a 3.7-inch TFT multitouch Reality display of resolution 854 x 480p employs the Mobile Bravia Engine. In addition to the touchscreen, the slide-out keypad makes for a flexible user interface. Said to be apt for messaging and social networking, this smartphone operates on the Google Android Gingerbread (2.3) platform. Measuring 4.7 x 2.2 x 0.5 inches, the lightweight device tips the scale at 142 grams.

Its powerful 8.1 megapixel camera allows capturing images with the help of 3D Sweep Panorama while the Sony’s Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor works even in low lighting conditions. Featuring LED flash and auto focus, the camera records HD videos of 720p resolution. The smartphone can be connected to various peripherals as it comes with a USB port. The DLNA certified handset can also be connected to big screen HDTVs with the help of its HDMI output.

The connectivity options of this mobile device are inclusive of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Besides web browsing, the handset offers access to social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter. Possessing multimedia capabilities, it is incorporated with the Sony xLOUD engine audio filter technology. Additionally, the device featuring the Sony ericsson music player lets users stream videos through YouTube. Needless to say, it can be used to browse the Android Market.
