The 4G enabled BlackBerry Torch 9810 smartphone is gearing up to toddle in stores on August 21 through AT&T. The carrier’s Facebook page revealed the release date of this slider touchscreen handset along with its unusually economical price of $49.99.

In addition to 3.2-inch multitouch TFT LCD screen of resolution 640 x 480, the smartphone has a physical QWERTY slider keypad. Besides options for flexibility in typing, the handset comes with an optical trackpad to scroll or click on links. The 4G enabled smartphone runs on BlackBerry 7 operating system capable of multitasking and employs a 1.2GHz processor along with 768MB RAM.

To ensure swift performance and faster browsing, the handset is pre-loaded with built-in features. Its 8GB memory can be expanded up to 32GB utilizing a microSD card. The smartphone is fitted with a 5MP camera with built-in flash and 4x digital zoom. The face detecting camera allows HD video recording and assigning picture modes to still shots.

The audio options of the handset include a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and an integrated speakerphone. Apart from GPS functionality, the phone supports BlackBerry Maps for navigation. Along with AT&T 4G network, the Torch 9810 allows access to Wi-Fi and connections to devices through Bluetooth.

AT&T has attached a price tag of $49.99 (approx. Rs. 2,280) to the 4G BlackBerry Torch 9810 smartphone after mail-in rebates along with a two year contract.
