LG Cosmos 2 QWERTY phone announced through Verizon Wireless, is the successor to the LG Cosmos mobile phone. The device is said to provide convenient access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and quick text input through the QWERTY keyboard.

Featuring a document viewer, users can access MS Office files with formats such as doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pdf and txt. For entertainment purposes, a 3.5mm headphone jack and music player supporting formats like MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+ is comes with the device. Purchases can be made from the apps storefront that provides a shopping cart, recommendations and a search feature. Support for 32GB expandable memory through microSD allows users to store more content.

The LG Cosmos 2 phone’s multi-language support along with input settings can be easily switched from English to Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Korean. Browsing through contact and mails is made easier with the quick search feature. Also Verizon’s e-mail app is available on a trial-basis for ten uses at no extra cost. Users can send and receive mails with the new e-mail application, text and multimedia messages (MMS) like picture attachments.

Being equipped with additional features such as Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 1.3 megapixel camera, the device also includes a customizable main menu and call and messaging restrictions. The Voice command feature can be used to call a person, send txt messages, open contacts and voice activated dialing.

The LG Cosmos 2 QWERTY phone from Verizon will be available starting July 14 for $29.99 (approx. Rs. 1,337) after a mail-in rebate at the Verizon Wireless Communications store.
