Palm Treo 500v Smartphone to roll out in Europe in October

Palm Treo 500v Smartphone Europe-based Palm has announced the availability of its new smartphone, dubbed Palm Treo 500v. The latest phone will be through Vodafone by next month.

Running on the Windows Mobile 6 platform, it features 3G / UMTS data, a 2-megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, 256MB of onboard memory (150MB for user storage), a microSD slot and Bluetooth 2.0.

The 500v also sports a full keyboard, and a big non-touchscreen display with 320×240 resolution, 65,536 colors, radio and mono and stereo headsets support. You can also use the phone for messaging, IM, email, browsing the web and viewing Office documents. Sadly it is not an HSDPA device, so no fast downloads will be available.

Compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista, the smartphone offers a battery life of 10 days standby time and up to 4.5 hours of talk time.

The price of the Palm Treo 500v is still not announced. The smartphone will be available in Europe exclusively on Vodafone for three months. Later, it will hit the shelves through the retailers.
