GETAC, a manufacturer of rugged computers has launched its new robust Personal Digital Assistant, known as PS535E, in the American market. The company plans to present the device along with other GETAC PDA models that includes, GETAC E100, workhorse M230 laptop and convertible V100, at the ESRI Worldwide Business Partner Conference.
Featuring a 3.5-inch transflective sunlight readable display, the latest PDA also doubles as a GPS device that works well and also protects the data while on the field. It also sports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and up to 8 hours of battery life.
Besides, the 3 pounds GETAC E100 rugged tablet PC comes with an 8.4-inch TFT SVGA transmissive display with an integrated touch screen panel. It also includes an optional Ultra-Bright sunlight-readable display and 800 Nit Backlit LCD screen. This device boasts to be dirt, dust, water, motion, vibration and temperature resistant.
The ultra-slim GETAC M230 notebook provides a choice from a 14-inch XGA or a 15-inch SXGA TFT LCD high resolution display. Additionally, it also incorporates an Intel Core Duo L2400 1.66GHz processor, 2MB L2 cache and 512MG DDR2 which is expandable to 4GB. It also offers optional ATI M54 chip for additional graphics processing power, extra storage up to 120GB and the ability to incorporate a number of plug-ins.
It also has a sunlight readable display, touch screen, waterproof membrane keyboard and Kensington lock security features.
GETAC’s V100 Fully Rugged convertible PC carries an LCD screen that has the ability to be transformed from a notebook into a tablet PC and includes a 10.4-inch screen, integrated Bluetooth, a reversible waterproof camera and a full menu of wireless networking capabilities. Moreover, it is powered by 1.2GHz Intel Core Duo Playform technology and comes with a 512MB of expandable DRAM up to 2GB, 120GB shock-mounted removable hard drive along with preloaded OS like the Microsoft Windows XP Professional and XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.
The V100 also provides other enhanced options that include a 12-inch LCD screen with daylight readability, choice of digitizer or touch screen interface, optional integrated GPS and 3G and 802.11a/b/g functionality.
However, the price and availability of the GETAC products are not known.
