Lenovo IdeaPad U series ultra laptops, S series mini laptops unveiled

The Lenovo IdeaPad U series ultra laptops as well as the IdeaPad S series mini notebooks form a part of the huge portfolio of devices released by the company. The U series is inclusive of the U310 and U410 ultra laptops, while the S series comprises the S200 and S206 mini versions of the notebook.

Inspired by the U300s Ultrabook, the Lenovo IdeaPad U series devices pack in Ultrabook versions with an integrated 500GB hard drive and a 64GB SSD. The thin U310 measuring 0.7 inches, tips the scale at 1.7kg, while the 21mm thick U410 weighs about 1.9kg. The former sports a 13.3-inch HD 16:9 display that utilizes Intel GMA 3000 HD graphics, whereas the U410 has been incorporated with Nvidia GeForce 610M graphics. These notebooks are splashed with shades of aqua blue, ruby red, cherry blossom, sapphire blue, spearmint and graphite gray.

Their noticeably responsive performance and fast boot times can be attributed to the Intel Core processors and the Lenovo Windows 7 Enhanced Experience tuning. Offering long battery lives that last up to eight hours, these ultra laptops come with the Lenovo Smart Update that refreshes the mailbox along with social media and instant messages by itself, even in sleep mode. Both laptops are also capable of establishing connections with big screen TVs with the help of the Intel Wireless display (WiDi) technology.

Lenovo IdeaPad S200

Intermediary devices to fill the gap between a notebook and a netbook, the S200 and S206 mini laptops belonging to the S series are said to pack powerful features in their 20.7mm thin and lightweight form factors. Fitted with displays measuring 11.6 inches, each of the laptops weighs merely 1.3kg. They boast of high quality tactile finish and their Accutype keyboards are embedded with rounded keys to facilitate comfortable typing.

Capable of coughing up the juice for about 4 hours, the Lenovo Quick Start instant on function lets users run certain applications without having to start Windows. The Lenovo IdeaPad S200 is equipped with the Intel Atom dual core processor along with an SSD of up to 32GB capacity and the S206 draws power from the AMD dual core processor. The other tech specs of these mini portable PCs read a 0.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. They will be available in attractive hues of graphite gray, pearl white, cotton-candy pink, electric blue and crimson red.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U series prices start at $699 (approx. Rs. 36,850) and they will be available in May this year. The Lenovo IdeaPas U series will debut at store shelves in June for prices starting at $349 (approx. Rs. 18,400).
