The CES usually brings a lot of promises regarding gizmos to be released in the current year and leaves enthusiasts waiting impatiently for the actual launch date of much anticipated gadgets. Toshiba has not waited for the buzz to die down and has gone ahead with the launch of their Satellite E205 laptop which was announced at the recently held CES.
The laptop sports a 14†LED backlit TFT HD LCD attributed with TruBrite technology that renders resolutions of 1366 x 768p. Its 4GB DDR3 memory is expandable up to 8GB and the 500GB hard drive integrates 3D impact sensor intelligence for data protection. The gizmo houses an Intel Core i5 processor with Intel Turbo Boost technology. It is powered by a 6-cell lithium-ion battery and is sold with a 75W AC adapter. It features a backlit keyboard, measures 1.2†slim and tips the scale at 5.1lbs.
The visuals are supported by Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD and audio system by embedded stereo speakers. The notebook offers users 10/100 Ethernet LAN, USB 2.0 and 802.11a/b/g/n connectivity. It runs with Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, hosts two USB 2.0 ports and a multi-format media reader. The gizmo boasts of a DVD±RW/CD-RW drive which accommodates DVD-RAM and Labelflash direct-disc labels via compatible Labelflash media.
Satellite E205 possesses an in-built webcam and microphone, media control buttons, two USB 2.0 ports and integrates Intel Wireless Display technology. The latter permits owners to wirelessly stream online media or personal content form the laptop to their home HDTV. This Energy Star certified device come with Microsoft Works 9 and Adobe Acrobat Reader software as also a 60-day trial version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 Edition.
Toshiba’s Satellite E205 laptop PC is available in a shade of fusion metallic blue on Best Buy at $899.99 (approx. Rs.41,368). It is proffered with a Netgear PushTV adapter and Kapersky Anti-Virus software.
