An increasing number of people seem to be opting for laptops due to the mobile connectivity they proffer. Sony has taken the covers off their brand new Vaio E series notebooks. The devices run Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium OS and come powered by Intel Core i5 processors with Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost technology.

The Energy Star 5.0 ratified laptop displays a 15.5” HD capable widescreen and integrates a webcam with face-tracking intelligence. A Web button provides quick internet access without full boot up into Windows. The E series notebooks are available in HDD capacities of up to 500GB.

Sony’s latest offerings incorporate a dedicated Vaio button for launching directly into the company’s Media Gallery software and an Assist button for accessing the Vaio Care software program. Select models feature Bluetooth technology for enabling wire-free connection of peripherals to the notebook like a wireless mouse. Each laptop is out with an eSATA/USB port and three USB ports.

“Sony is once again bringing innovation to the PC industry,” asserted Mike Abary, senior vice president of the VAIO business group, Sony. “The E Series delivers contemporary-cool designs at mainstream prices, proving consumers no longer have to sacrifice style for affordability.”

The E series notebooks are extended with optional Blu-ray Disc ROM drives. Additionally, they are also equipped to deliver CD and DVD read/write functionalities. The PC possesses an HDMI output terminal that allows users to connect it to a compatible HDTV and view content from the laptop. It sports an edge-to-edge isolated keyboard that has a numeric pad and a dimpled touch pad.

Sony has unveiled the E series laptops in 5 translucent high-gloss shades comprising of coconut white, carribean green, lava black, iridescent blue and hibiscus pink. They are also out in 3 matte colors consisting of gunmetal, maple brown and silver white.
