Asus P30 and P80 Notebooks now Feature New Intel Anti-Theft Technology

Asus P Series Notebook

The growing issues of unauthorized access or theft of notebooks have created hesitation in the minds of consumers for saving their confidential data on their respective notebooks. Addressing this concern, Asus has announced that Asus P series of notebooks will come equipped with Intel Anti-Theft PC Protection Technology, ensuring a complete protection of the devices against theft.

With this technology, the P30 and P80 notebooks under the P series enable users to send a “poison pill” remotely that makes the systems inoperable by comprehensively shutting it down. This helps to eliminate the risk of data loss from a stolen or lost notebook.

Moreover, once the notebook has been recovered, users can take full advantage of a local passphrase or recovery token that has the ability to reactivate the notebook.

According to Henry Yeh, General Manager of Asus’ Notebook Business Unit, “With the incorporation of Intel Anti-Theft PC Protection technology in Asus P30 and P80 notebooks, professionals can now conduct their businesses with greater assurance and without the fear of dire ramifications in the event of theft or loss. This added security capability in our P Series commercial notebooks makes it the definitive mobile companion for the professionals of today’s fast-paced market.”

“With the growth of laptop sales increasing, theft management has become an important requirement for our customers. Our collaboration with ASUS will bring to customers new worldwide scalable hardware-based security solutions using Intel Anti-Theft Technology that will deter theft,” said George Thangadurai, director of Strategic Planning and general manager, Intel Anti-theft Services, Intel Mobile Platforms Group.

The Asus P30 and P80 notebooks are available for purchase. Although, the price and other details of the P series notebooks with Intel Anti-Theft Technology are not yet clear.
