Vivienne Tam gives HP netbooks a makeover

HP has teamed up with designer Vivienne Tam to gives its netbooks a makeover. The new designs, called the digital clutch, were unveiled during the New York Fashion Week at Bryant Park. The designs were a part of the designer’s spring 2010 collection.

The classic butterfly design has been inspired by a Chinese love story called Butterfly lovers. The design basically features colorful butterflies on a champagne gold backdrop. The design is a perfect blend of two different cultures. These new netbooks bring together fashion and technology. They also reflect a transformative spirit and a chic lifestyle.

“To me, butterflies symbolize love, freedom, independence and transformation,” said Vivienne Tam. “I love working with HP because they are also inspired by nature. Together we bring life, color and personality to the computer world, creating fashionable technology for modern women.”

“With her spring collection, Vivienne channeled her creativity into a timeless design that will help HP deliver the next must-have item for fashion-forward women around the world,” said Satjiv S. Chahil, senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing, Personal Systems Group, HP.

According to designer Vivienne Tam, the digital clutch personifies her entire spring collection. Along with launching the digital clutch, HP and designer Vivienne Tam have launched a fully integrated online experience and destination on StyleCaster. This will allows consumers around the globe to know more about Vivienne Tam as well as the new clutch.

The HP Vivienne Tam digital clutch will be available in spring next year. The pricing details are still under wraps. Apparently, the netbooks that will feature these new designs will incorporate features similar to HP’s Mini100 lineup.
