Idea Branded Desktops and Laptops unveiled by Lenovo in India

Lenovo has announced the launch of its new brand of consumer PC, called Idea, in the Indian market. The Idea consumer PC includes IdeaPad notebooks and IdeaCentre desktops, featuring frameless screens, touch-sensitive control surfaces and unique textures. While, the IdeaPad line-up consists of IdeaPad Y710 for gaming enthusiasts, IdeaPad Y510 is for ultimate entertainment and IdeaPad U110, the IdeaCentre series comprises of IdeaCentre K200 Desktops and IdeaCentre Q200 Desktops.

These innovative and stylish products also come with a unique One Key Recovery feature to restore factory preloaded settings. Outstanding durability, anti-bacterial keyboard and extended battery management functionality are the other key features.

In the IdeaPad Y710, features such as a 17-inch widescreen, Intel Centrino processor technology, ATI graphics, WLAN connectivity, five speakers including a subwoofer are included. Developed for gamers, the notebook has a Game Zone that comes with an enlarged directional buttons, four user-customizable buttons, Halo Lighting to emit a different color light from the side bezel and secondary display showing system information such as CPU speed. Lenovo’s logo is also embedded on the front of the notebook.

Next in the series is the IdeaPad Y510 that is equipped with a 15.4-inch widescreen, Dolby 4.1 Home Theater speaker system to improve sound output and theatre experience, an integrated TV tuner, DVD-RW optical drive and Intel Centrino processor technology along with integrated graphics, WLAN connectivity, five speakers including a subwoofer and an integrated camera.

Coming to the ultra-portable IdeaPad U110, it bundles Active Protection System, an air-bag like device that parks the hard drive to help protect data during a fall. It is housed in a red aluminum alloy top cover, blending style and durability. It weighs just 1.05kg.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Desktop’s member, the IdeaCentre K200 carries Lenovo’s Bright Vision for eyesight protection, an anti-bacterial keyboard, Card Reader Support and Dual tone color as well as one-key anti-virus, file management and installing drivers and software.

Lastly, the IdeaCentre Q200 includes one-key anti-virus, file management, installing drivers and software, and a Vista remote control. It boasts to be an adaptation of Artist Piet Mondrian and sports a style-based on an absolute harmony of straight lines and pure colors underlying the visible world.

The prices of IdeaPad and IdeaCentre range from Rs. 42,000 and Rs. 23,500 respectively. The IdeaPad Y510 and IdeaCentre K200 are currently available at Lenovo authorized stores and the IdeaPad Y710 and IdeaPad U110 are slated to roll out in April this year.
