Apple has launched its MacBooks notebooks with the Intel Santa Rosa platform, without much hype.
Santa Rosa, the next generation Centrino wireless notebook platform from Intel, includes Core 2 Duo processor and incorporates the 802.11n spec, having throughput over a Wi-Fi network of up to 74 Mbps. The previous 802.11g spec had a throughput of 19 Mbps.
The new platform is provided to the MacBooks for boosting their processing power.
The new MacBooks with Santa Rosa platform come in two colors. The basic white colored MacBook with a 2.0GHz processor and an 80GB hard drive is available at the price of $1,099 (approx Rs. 43,260). Much isn’t known about the other model.
