Onkyo has announced the launch of its first HD-DVD player called DV-HD805 in the US, today. The new player will feature high-bit-rate audio streaming through HDMI version 1.3a connection that supports Onkyo’s line of A/V receivers.
The incorporated Deep Color technology improves color tone which results into a finer color gradation. Besides, the player also features network capabilities through Ethernet port that allows users to download any future firmware updates.
Moreover, the DV-HD805 uses Onkyo’s HQV Reon VX video processing featuring video scaling duties (to 720p, 1080i or 1080p), which ultimately boosts the quality of native-resolution DVDs.
Besides, the player boasts audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, also it supports two lossy formats, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.
Onkyo is expected to launch the DV-HD805 HD-DVD player by September 2007 at a price of 900USD (around Rs. 36,570).
