Sony should be able to make the most of the upcoming Christmas holidays with its Reader Daily Edition. The latest announcement from the company reveals the addition of exclusive content for the Reader. Yes, Sony has partnered with Dow Jones & Company to offer comprehensive and exclusive content from The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch for the Sony Reader Daily Edition.

Intended at giving users a superior reading experience, Sony delivers exclusive content offerings from The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch which is part of the Wall Street Journal Digital Network. Available for wireless delivery to the Reader Daily Edition, users can look forward to an enhanced reading experience.

Sony has additionally also reached an agreement with the New York Post to exclusively deliver the only version of the New York Post for digital reading devices. Users will soon be able to avail these exclusive new packages through Sony’s newly branded Reader Store. As part of the agreements, Sony’s Reader Daily Edition will be the first digital reading device for The Wall Street Journal and New York Post. The two publishers will jointly market the devices with Sony.

Optimized for newspapers, the Reader Daily Edition delivers content in an elegant, easy-to-read format that is also intuitive to navigate. Thanks to device’s touchscreen, readers can experience newspapers like never before. While highlighting content, they can now also take notes and also look up words on the device’s integrated dictionary. Offering wireless access to Reader Store from most locations in the U.S. through a 3G mobile broadband network, book lovers can choose to browse, purchase and download books. They can also select newspapers and magazines on the go through Sony’s Reader Store.

Additional features of the reader include a responsive, menu-driven, seven-inch touch screen panel for speedy intuitive navigation, page turning, highlighting and note taking with the swipe of a finger. Users can also work with the included stylus pen. Allowing notes to be exported and printed out for easy reference, there’s also an onboard Oxford American English Dictionary for easy look up of a word by simple tapping.

With wireless 3G connectivity, the Reader Daily Edition is available for pre-sale at SonyStyle Stores and online at SonyStyle.com. The Wall Street Journal digital edition subscriptions can be availed for $14.99 a month. The Wall Street Journal PLUS, MarketWatch Today and New York Post are exclusive offerings for the Reader Store. The monthly subscription for The Wall Street Journal PLUS and the update is $19.99 while a MarketWatch Today subscription will cost $10.99 a month. As for a subscription for the New York Post Digital Reader Edition, users will have to shell out $9.99 a month.

While The Wall Street Journal digital edition and MarketWatch Today hits stands in the next few days, The Wall Street Journal PLUS and New York Post will roll out in January, 2010. Readers can also get a 14-day free trial of any of these subscriptions.
