Ground Effect now available on App store

Ground Effect

Game addicts can now play one more game on their iPhone and iPod touch. Independent game developer, Glenn Corpes has declared that Ground Effects in now available on both these devices.

The title was created only for the iPhone and iPod Touch and uses touch controls as well as their accelerometers. Ground Effect is a 3D, typical, arcade-style racer game. It comes with astounding graphics and amazingly smooth frame-rates.

Glenn Corpes commented, “This has been an incredibly satisfying project and I love developing for the platform which, contrary to popular belief, is extremely powerful and versatile. It has enabled me to pack a pretty complex and graphically polished game into just 7.5MB, meaning it can be downloaded over the air, even on the original iPhone. This gives me enormous scope to update the game as I still have 2.5MB to play with if I decide to keep it within Apple’s 10MB limit. The Ground Effect engine itself is something I’m also particularly proud of and I’m already planning on how to use it in my next offering as well as making it available to other developers.”

In the game, players can roam around freely anywhere. A selection of 10 Ground Effect Crafts are available. To complete the game, a player has to go through 14 challenging levels. The game boasts of a striking terrain, both land and sea and spans 70km. Players can travel at a speed of over 400km/h. Gamers can record their high scores and there’s also a replay mode that allows them to go back and play a better move. Ghost race can enable gamers to compete their best time while fight controls are responsive and spontaneous. In-gaming music by Diefenbach is available and one can select their preferred music.

The game is played by navigating through check points, evading several natural hurdles in the quickest possible time. Every level in Ground Effect is geographically different to current players with new challenges. For those who are strong enough to survive, updates are already in the works. For casual gamers, they can enjoy the stunning landscapes and free-roaming facility.

Ground Effect can now be purchased from the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.
