Sony is heard to be preparing ‘compact’ PlayStation2, which is expected to hit the shelves by next year.
According to MCV, the upcoming version of the PS2 will be equipped with a built-in power supply. Other features of the console are not known as of now.
MCV expects the new slim PS2 to come in the US market at $99 (approx Rs. 3,885). And in UK it will be offered at £75 or perhaps even lower than that.
Last week only Sony celebrated 7th anniversary of PlayStation2. On the occasion Sony disclosed that up till now it has sold 30 million units and it wishes to sell ship 10 million consoles by March 2008.
