iRiver Story HD eBook reader to come integrated with Google eBooks

iRriver Story HD Google eBooks

The upcoming iRiver Story HD eBook reader bundled with Google eBooks is going to be the first device to have direct access to the service and we have our bets on an enhanced reading experience. The eReader is said to enable users to directly purchase and read eBooks on Wi-Fi instead of transferring them from a computer.

Google has made its platform open to all publishers and retailers, with direct access to use Google Books APIs and services. Yes, the Google eBook store will be open to all. Also, users can store their purchased eBooks on-the-cloud, allowing them to pick up from where they left off.

Previously when the service was launched, modern browsers and apps for certain platforms could access it. As per the official Google blog, the service now includes eBooks from more than two hundred and fifty bookstores.

As for the new eReader, it is fueled by an 800MHz processor and a 6” high-resolution e-ink screen. There’s also a QWERTY keyboard for quick input and easy searching. The slim and lightweight device can access Google eBooks comprising more than three million free books and thousands of others available for purchase.

The iRiver Story HD eBook reader will be available nationwide in Target stores and on Target.com from July 17 at a price of $139.99 (approx. Rs. 6,237).
