NEC adds 42-inch V421 to its V Series of displays

NEC V421 Display

Spiffing up the display segment isn’t something new for manufacturers who have lots of innovative ideas running in their mind. This time, NEC has added its new 42-inch display to its V Series of digital signage solutions, the V421.

With high brightness of up to 500 cd/m and contrast ratio of up to 1300:1, the V421 steps in as an ideal choice for corporate conference rooms, retail stores and restaurants. The display features a full selection of inputs from HDMI to 5 BNC which enables users to connect a variety of secondary devices to it. Users can also remotely monitor and control the LCD display by using its Ethernet port.

“The value to cost ratio has an enormous significance for basic digital signage customers that want to delve deeper into the digital signage industry. With integrated video wall technologies and advanced features for frequently used environments, the V421 is a resourceful proponent of cost efficiency and reliability. The V Series enhances areas where static signage is no longer effective and change is necessary without costly implementations,” shared Luke Bruschuk, Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions.

The V421 is equipped with a protective-glass and touch-panel to fritter away potential damage and encourage interactivity at the same time. The display also sports an advanced cooling fan-based technology to avoid overheating and protection against permanent image retention. Time and energy is further saved with its real-time scheduler that ensures advanced scheduling of content and power on/off.

The display supports video walls of up to 25 displays in a 5 x 5 configuration using TileMatrixT, an improvement from the 4×4 capability in the MultiSync LCD4215. Other highlights of the display are 1920 x 1080 full high-definition resolution, PIP and POP modes, improved user color setting, support for Windows Vista, Energy Star 5.0 compliance, and landscape or portrait orientation. Optional accessories for the device include a stand, a speaker and a wall mount.

The V421 is anticipated to hit the shelves beginning July 2010 with a price of $999 (approx Rs. 46,100).
