Canon PowerShot G1X, IXUS 500 HS, IXUS 125 HS unveiled in India

A total of three compact cameras titled Canon PowerShot G1X, IXUS 500 HS and IXUS 125 HS have announced their upcoming arrival in India. These cameras are powered by the DIGIC 5 image processor, which claims to capture high quality images regardless of the lighting conditions.

Equipped with EOS technologies and CMOS sensor, the 14.3MP G1X compact camera employs a 4x zoom 28mm lens. The easy to use snapper is embedded with a control dial for better manual controls, in addition to an optical viewfinder. The device is also fitted with a 3-inch vari-angle LCD monitor. And similar to most D-SLRs, this camera also saves pictures in the 14-bit RAW format, which is a preferred format as it facilitates editing.

The 16.5MP IXUS 125 HS comes with 5x optical zoom, while the extremely slim 500 HS boasts of 12x zoom that lets users capture distant objects without compromising on clarity. Moreover, the image stabilizers of these cameras eliminate the blurring effect in images due to camera shake. The updated auto mode function of both IXUS shooters detects about 58 types of scene. Users can capture memories using their Smart Auto mode, without customizing the camera settings.

And what’s more, along with auto focus and auto exposure, they are inclusive of the Face ID function to save names and faces of about 12 people. These registered people’s pictures are tagged that makes searching their images easier. Additionally, the DIGIC 5 processor pairs up with the HS system to compose clear pictures sans the need of tripods.

The Canon PowerShot G1X, IXUS 500 HS and IXUS 125 HS prices and availability details have not been revealed.
