Slated to release in the next two months, Canon has further augmented its range of PowerShot cameras with three new photo-capturing devices which do not compromise on the image quality. Designed to handle most shooting situations accurately, the Canon PowerShot SX150 IS, ELPH 510 HS and ELPH 310 HS cameras are equipped with the latest technology to reproduce high-definition images.

The Canon PowerShot SX150 IS camera boasts of a 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor and the Digic 4 image processor in addition to 12x optical zoom for capturing HD images at resolutions of up to 720p. Features like discreet shooting mode, Intelligent IS and Smart Auto are accompanied with manual-shooting capabilities of aperture and shutter priority. Drenched in shades of black and red, this camera comes with a 3-inch LCD screen.

The 12.1 megapixel Canon PowerShot ELPH 510 HS camera touts to be the world’s thinnest camera employing a 12x optical zoom. Splashed in hues of red, black and silver, it shoots 1080p Full HD videos while possessing attributes such as HS system, High-Speed Burst mode, Intelligent IS and Smart Auto. Also, its 3.2-inch multitouch LCD display comes with Touch Shutter.

With features similar to the 510 HS, the Canon PowerShot ELPH 310 HS camera also utilizes a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor though its 28mm wide-angle lens is accompanied with 8x optical zoom. Integrating Canon’s HS System, this device is capable of recording HD videos at 1080p resolutions. It includes High-Speed Burst mode, Smart Auto and Intelligent IS. Sporting a 3-inch LCD screen, the snaper will be available in colors like purple, blue, pink, green or silver.

The optical zoom attribute facilitates shooting clear pictures from a distance, while the Intelligent IS system chooses one of the six modes by itself to eliminate distortion. The Smart Auto feature specifically meant for amateur photographers, automatically selects shooting scenes for videos as well as still images. Canon’s HS System reduces noise and ensures clarity in low lighting conditions, whereas the High-Speed Burst mode allows shooting fast moving moments. Additionally, the company will also introduce the Canon HF-DC2 high-power flash by the end of this year.

Priced at $249.99 (approx. Rs. 11,508), the Canon PowerShot SX150 IS camera will be available next month. The Canon PowerShot ELPH 510 HS and 310 HS cameras carry price tags of $349.99 (approx. Rs. 16,111) and $259.99 (approx. Rs. 11,968), respectively and they are slated to release in October. The Canon HF-DC2 high-power flash is priced at $149.99 (approx. Rs. 6,899).
