Nikon flashes out Coolpix P100 and L110 digital cameras

Digital cameras seem to have replaced traditional cameras in most households today. Nikon has slid the covers off two new compact digital camera offerings dubbed the Coolpix P100 and L110. These devices integrate Nikkor lenses and allow for HD video recording along with high zoom ranges.

Coolpix P100 is a 10.3MP camera with CMOS sensor that delivers 26 x optical zoom and permits a focal range of 26mm to 678mm. It enables full HD movie recording with stereo sound as well as an HDMI port for viewing these videos on an HDTV. The CMOS image sensor comes with backside illumination structure, Backlit Scene HDR scene mode and Night Landscape. Its high-speed continuous shooting capability permits continuous shooting of 10MP images at up to 120fps.

The camera sports a 3” 460k-dot vari-angle TFT LCD with anti-reflection coating and an electronic viewfinder. It is powered by rechargeable Li-ion EN-EL5 batteries, has 43MB internal memory and measures 114.4mm x 82.7mm x 98.6mm. This SD-card compatible device offers ISO levels of up to 3200 and lends a number of other functions like BSS, small portrait system, motion detection, image-sensor shift vibration reduction and image-sensor shift and electronic vibration reduction.

Nikon’s 12.1MP Coolpix L110 renders 15 x zoom and accommodates focal ranges of 28mm to 420mm. Movies may be captured in HD format and viewed on an HDTV via its HDMI connectivity. It works with AA-sized batteries and proffers 43MB of onboard storage. The camera is compatible with SD memory cards and extends functions like Easy Auto mode, face-priority AF, ISO of up to 6400, image-sensor shift vibration reduction function, motion detection and Nikon’s BSS. Additionally, the chassis displays a 3″ 460k-dot TFT LCD with anti-reflective coating.

Nikon’s Coolpix P100 and L110 are offered in the colors black and red, correspondingly. Information on pricing and availability is unclear for now.
