Pentax announces Price Cut for K20D DSLR Camera

Pentax Imaging Company now offers its feature-rich K20 digital SLR cameras at a reduced price for consumers in the American market.

The company drops the minimum advertised price (MAP) of the award winning K20D DSLR camera body and two K20D lens kit configurations by $200. The concession is immediately taken into effect.

Below is the list of the new MAP pricing of the Pentax K20 digital SLR:

  • Pentax K20D body carries a price tag of $799.95 (approx. Rs. 39,830)
  • Pentax K20D with DA 18-55mm II lens kit costs $879.95 (approx. Rs. 43,805)
  • Pentax K20D with DA 16-45mm lens kit now retails for $1199.95 (approx. Rs. 59,735)
  • “With this price reduction, Pentax now offers consumers the highest resolution on one of the most fully-featured DSLRs priced under 800 dollars,” commented Bill Zani, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Pentax Imaging Company.

    Moreover, the company has also extended the warranty period of the product. In the K20D free three year warranty scheme, consumers are now entitled to receive additional two years warranty besides the one year standard warranty. This offer is applicable till March 31, 2009 on the purchase of all K20Ds.

    Coming to the features, the Pentax K20D digital SLR camera has a high-resolution of 14.6 megapixels, a dust-proof and weather-resistant body. It also comes equipped with PRIME image processor for full image customization and the Pentax-developed Shake Reduction.
