Canon firmware update version 1.1.0 for the EOS Digital Rebel XTi Camera

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Tokyo-based Canon has announced a second firmware update version 1.1.0 for the well-known DSLP camera, EOS Digital Rebel XTi a.ka. EOS 400D.

According to Canon, the latest firmware update offers an added support for the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP), which has greater expandability between the camera and computer till now.

Consumers, whose camera has firmware up to version 1.0.5, are capable of updating with this new firmware 1.1.0 version. This updated version also has the ability to recify errors in the Simplified Chinese menu screens.

The changes brought about by firmware version 1.0.5 were incredible. While using PictBridge, it can fix the printing of lens names. It can even correct the printing of the lens name for shots taken with the EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro lens and Life-Size Converter EF. Moreover, it is also capable of improving the reliability of communication with the Speedlite 380EX. It enabled the selection of Redeye 1, when connecting with specific printers such as iP6310D / iP6320D / iP6700D Photo Inkjet Printer.

  • Use a fully charged Battery Pack or dedicated AC Adapter Kit (Optional) ACK-DC20 for the firmware update.
  • Do not shut off the power during the firmware writing operation.
  • Do not open the CF card slot cover during the firmware writing operation.
  • Do not press any camera buttons during the firmware writing operation.
