Dell introduces new Precision Tower Workstations

Dell released three new tower workstations called as Dell Precision T7500, T5500 and T3500. These are one of the first workstation ranges to include Intel Xeon 5500 ‘Nehalem’. The Dell Precision line-up caters to professionals in media, biosciences economic modeling and engineering.

Dell Precisions T7500 includes up to two quad-core processors and up to 192GB of three-channel DDR3 ECC memory up to 1066 or 1333MHz. The system holds more than 1 billion configuration options. This workstation has dual native Gen 2 PCIe x 16 graphics slots of up to 450 watts. Without a raiser, Nvidia SLI technology can be supported with this device.

Dell Precision T5500 incorporates Intel Xeon dual sockets in a small footprint system. This workstation has a 72GB memory capacity and graphics slots of up to 300 watts. Dell Precision T3500 tower workstation offers DDR3 ECC memory of up to 24GB with a built-in memory controller. This results in good application performance and low latency.

All three models of the Dell Precision tower workstations offer better application performance. Dell Precision T7500 and T5500 accommodate up to 350% more memory bandwidth with dual processors.

Different optional product features for the latest line up of Dell can be acquired by customers. Some of these features are found only on selected devices. Intel QuickPath, Direct Cache Access enhances the performance of the workstations. Depending on users’ application needs, the Intel Turbo Mode is designed to adapt the processor speed.

For optional storage, there is E-SATA port for quick external storage and up to 1.5TB SATA hard drives for local storage. The Dell Precision T5500, T7500 and T3500 can support graphic cards of Nvidia NVS 295, Nvidia Quadro FX 580, FX 1800, FX 3800 and FX 4800. For Precision T5500 and T7500, FX 5800 graphic solution and Nvidia Telsa GPU compute solutions can be supported. Also ATI Firepro V3750, V5700 and V8700 graphic cards are compatible with all three workstations.

Dell Precision workstation configurations are Energy Star 5.0 compliant and have 85% power supplies which reduce energy consumption. Services like Dell ProManage and Dell ProSupport automate deployment, support workstations and management.

ImageDirect installs images and applications at the factory itself. Software inventory and utilization, automate asset tracking and monitoring, patch and email management help solve routine management. With Fast-Track PartsDispatch, support for third party software and expert tech-to-tech support help, the workstations reduce downtime.

Dell Precision T7500 and T5500 are available at a price of $1,800(approx. Rs.89,900) and $1,620 (approx. Rs.80,900) respectively. The Dell Precision T3500 can be acquired for a starting price of $999 (approx. Rs.49,884).
