HP Z800, HP Z600 and HP Z400 Workstations HP takes the wrap off its new Z Workstation Series in the form of the new HP Z800, HP Z600 and HP Z400 Workstations. This new Series claims to offer unparalleled performance and value in a new sleeker design.

“The new Z line marks the first HP workstations to be totally serviceable with your fingers – from the power supply to the motherboard,” said Jim Zafarana, vice president and general manager, Workstations, HP. “Early studies show that an HP Z Workstation may pay for itself in a surprisingly short period with its performance and productivity gains.”

The new Z line offers a modular design with components neatly placed in a cable-less environment for optimal use. The outer side adorns a brushed-aluminum exterior.
“Opening the door of the new BMW Z4 and the side panel of the new HP Z Workstation reveals that both are as aesthetically powerful and innovative on the inside as they are on the outside,” said Verena Kloos, president, BMW Group DesignworksUSA.

HP has also introduced the new HP SkyRoom technology that provides visual collaboration and conferencing solution. It has been built on HP’s pioneering video and imaging engines. Eventually, the products offer a real-time visual communication responsiveness that is about four times faster than a blink of an eye. The HP SkyRoom is now in beta testing stage. The HP Z Workstations feature Intel Xeon processor 5500 series and come integrated with memory controllers, Intel Turbo Boost Technology with a range of professional graphics solutions, built-in high-definition audio and several solid-state drives.

The HP Z800 Workstation is said to be HP’s most powerful and expandable workstation for applications like 3-D animation, broadcast video, oil and gas discovery and medical imaging. This quad-core HP Z800 features new Intel QuickPath Technology for an amazing input/output performance and also features a liquid-cooling option.

The HP Z600 Workstation has been designed keeping the environment in mind. It offers efficient performance in a compact size for in several fields like video production, finance and midrange CAD. Similar to the HP Z800 Workstation, the HP Z600 Workstation can connect to up to eight displays.

The entry-level HP Z400 Workstation offers Intel processor performance and is available at an attractive price. It is apt for video editing, photography, design and engineering and features a liquid-cooling option. It also claims to be the first single-socket workstation based on the next-generation Intel Microarchitecture (Nehalem). It can also be built with the new Intel Xeon processors.

“The new Intel Xeon processor 5500 series and Intel QuickPath Technology blow the doors off of previous workstation performance benchmarks,” said Kirk Skaugen, vice president and general manager, Workstations and Servers, Intel. “HP has a unique ability to take our processors and highly tune them into digital workhorses. HP Workstation customers will love the intelligent performance, energy efficiency, and expandability that are enabled by the new Xeon processors.”

This new HP line-up also bundles up some eco-friendly features such as the exclusive WattSaver feature that manages power even in off state at less than one watt, reduces overall energy consumed and wastes less amount of heat and it is ENERGY STAR 5.0 compliant.

The HP Workstations also feature HP’s additional benefits for precision-tuning like certified drivers for commonly used workstation applications, legendary quality assurance and testing process and superior acoustics engineering.

The HP Z Workstation Series is said to available starting April 6 while the pricing starts at $1,999 for the HP Z800 Workstation, $1,679 for the HP Z600 Workstation and $969 for the HP Z400 Workstation.
