Apple Final Cut Suite 2 Unveiled

Apple Computers introduced Final Cut Studio 2, a video production suite recently. The new editing suite includes Color, which is the new software for color grading and finishing.

The Final Cut Pro 6 is the latest version of Apple editing software, a new Open Format Timeline allowing editors to mix and match any video format and frame-rate in a single Timeline without transcoding.

The Final Cut Pro 6 software also includes Apple’s new post production format ProRes 422, which is capable of producing superior HD quality at SD file sizes. Besides, the Final Cut Pro 6 incorporates optical flow-based SmoothCam technology that helps to remove unwanted/jarring camera movement.

The Soundtrack Pro 2 is the new version of audio editing application included in Final Cut Studio 2. The Soundtrack 2 features multi-track editing and recording tools in a streamlined interface. Also, sound editors now can work with a royalty-free library of over 5,000 professionally-produced foley and sound effects.

Furthermore, the Apple Final Cut 2 offers Motion 3, latest motion graphics software from Apple. The Motion 3 features new camera behaviors, vector-based paint tools, a highly match-moving tool, and over 1,500 new design elements, by which animators can enjoy their work.

The Compressor 3 is another software that Apple Final Cut Suite 2 incorporates. This tool is the new version of Apple’s encoding tool, which features a streamlined new interface and simplified work flows. Besides, the Compressor 3 supports standard codecs such as MPEG-2 and H.264.

Finally, the Color is a new entry in Apple’s editing suite, Final Cut Studio 2. The Color is the application which can complete the tasks such as color grading and finishing of work flow. The Color offers more than 20 signature looks that can be customized to create unique moods for different projects.

On the launch, Rob Schoeben, vice president of applications product marketing at Apple, said, “Final Cut Studio 2 is specifically designed to enable the rapidly growing worldwide community of Final Cut editors to animate, mix, grade, and deliver their work as a natural extension of the editorial process.”

The Final Cut Studio 2 will be available through all Apple Authorized Resellers at the approximate price of Rs 77,070. Registered users of current version Apple Final Cut Studio can upgrade to Final Cut Studio 2 at around Rs 29,980. While, registered users from any previous version of Final Cut Pro can upgrade to the latest version at an estimated price of Rs 43,120.
