The price in India of the iPad mini has finally been disclosed by Apple and the device has now gone up for sale through the authorized retailers across the nation. Only yesterday we reported that the company’s website has confirmed that the tablet will toddle into India and it will set users back by at least Rs. 21,900.
According to the Apple web portal, the slate’s Wi-Fi-only versions are now available for purchase, but the Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be arriving soon. Besides this, the fourth generation iPad has also made its way into the country, officially and can now be purchased for a starting cost of a little less than Rs. 32,000.
For refresher’s sake, the mini is the first 7.9-inch slab to have been developed by the OEM in question. This device’s LED-backlit touchscreen powered by the IPS technology and featuring a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, is said to be capable of rendering visuals in 1024 x 768p resolution at 163ppi. As for the internal working of the tablet, it is carried out with the assistance of the Apple-designed dual core A5 chip.
Snap-happy users can employ the device’s 5MP iSight camera for capturing memories in the form of pictures and videos. Auto focus, backside illumination, LED flash, face detection, tap to focus, video stabilization and the ability to record 1080p videos have been added to the list of attributes of this snapper. A 1.2MP FaceTime HD webcam sits on the front side to facilitate video conferencing.
The Wi-Fi-enabled device also comes with Bluetooth 4.0 technology and other connectivity options like a Lightning port and a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. The cellular version sports a nano SIM card tray too. A built-in 16.3Wh rechargeable battery rests under the hood to provide web browsing time of close to 10 hours over Wi-Fi.
The price of the mini Wi-Fi only are as follows – Rs. 21,900, Rs. 29,900 and Rs. 33,900 for 16GB, 23GB and 64GB variants, respectively. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi + Cellular devices will cost Rs. 29,900, Rs. 35,900 and Rs. 41,900, correspondingly.
