Seagate Replica PC Backup

Computer savvy users worried about losing essential applications and data need not fret any more. They can now back up all their PC content into Seagate’s latest offering known as the Replica PC backup. Two configurations are available with the appliance which allows unhindered backup for single and multiple PCs.

Earlier people used to backup all their information by dragging and dropping files into separate drives or on CDs and DVDs. This proved to be a very daunting task for busy individuals. Seagate has come up with a solution for this. Users now need not dedicate much time to backing up all their information. The appliance is automatically able to make copies of everything including operating systems, e-mails, pictures, applications, music and Internet bookmarks.

Terry Cunningham, senior vice president, Seagate Branded Solutions commented, “While people continue to amass digital content, many still don’t understand the importance of backing up their libraries of personal memories, or they don’t take the time. Our goal is to deliver solutions that provide thorough backup protection yet are easy to use, time-efficient and simple to understand, and the Seagate Replica is about as easy as it gets.”

Customers can attach the device through the PC’s USB port, click affirmative to the software license and voila, all the content present in the PC is copied onto the Replica appliance. When left connected, it continuously backs up all new information as well.

Losing data and precious photos are now a thing of the past with this backup device. If a file may accidentally get deleted, it can be easily retrieved without any hassles. The device is very user-friendly as it does not comprise of any complicated software or new user interface programs.

The multi-PC configuration of the Replica consists of a dock and is ideal for homes where there are two or more computers. The single-PC configuration caters to mainly single computers or personal laptops.

The multi-PC and single-PC versions are available for a retail price of $199.99 (approx. Rs.10,031) and $129.99 (approx. Rs.6,520) respectively. The backup system will be available to customers in May, 2009.
