Corsair intros DDR3 memory for Core i5 and i7 processors

Corsair Logo Recently, Corsair expanded its Extreme series with the introduction of a new 256GB SSD. Now, Corsair has now come up with High Density DDR3 Memory modules. These modules have been specifically designed for Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

The Corsair DIMMs are presently available in dual and triple channel configurations. The 8GB and 12GB module kits are said to include Corsair’s DHX+ cooling technology. The dual channel configuration also known as the CMD8GX3M4A1600C8 incorporates four matched 2GB modules. These 2GB modules have been specifically designed for P55 motherboards.

“Windows 7 early adopters and other power users have recently been demanding 8GB and 12GB performance memory solutions to optimize their computing experience,” stated John Beekley, Vice President of Technical Marketing at Corsair. “These 8GB and 12GB configurations will allow these advanced users to get the most out of their high performance rigs, particularly if they often switch between demanding tasks like gaming and video production.”

The triple channel configuration is also called the CMD12GX3M6A1600C8. This module consists of six matched 2GB and is specifically designed for the X58 motherboards. Both these configurations have XMP profiles set at 1600MHz. They also incorporate CAS latency settings of 8-8-8-24. Both the 8GB and 12GB configurations include an airflow fan with blue highlights that match the new American Racing Blue fins which these modules flaunt.

These memory modules from Corsair are also compatible with Windows 7 operating system. A study conducted states that these modules delivered improved performance when used with configurations of 8GB and higher. The study also claims that these higher density modules allow users to take full advantage of the improved memory handling feature of the Windows 7 operating system. The pricing and availability details of the Corsair High Density DDR3 Memory are still under wraps.
