SanDisk announced to introduce its new SD flash memory cards dubbed SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition. The USP of this line of SDHC cards is that it is capable of transfer speed of 30 megabytes per second.
Featuring a 50% speed boost from previous 20MB/s cards, the new card makes it possible to record record 39 6MB images while 4.5 fps – complementing the new range of DSLRs. In addition, they are also capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -13 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit or -25 to 85 degrees Celsius.
Available in 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB storage configurations, the SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition SDHC cards boast of a 50-percent speed boost from previous 20MB/s cards thus making it possible to record 39 6MB images in continuous shooting mode at 4.5 frames per second.
“The high capacities and performance of the SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition SDHC cards give users the freedom to shoot lots of high-resolution photos and video clips. The combination of our new SanDisk Extreme III 30 MB/s Edition SDHC card technology and the Nikon D90 camera maximizes performance,†noted Susan Park, director of consumer product marketing for SanDisk’s performance cards.
It also works in extreme temperatures and confers a Class 6 performance rating.
Backed by a one year warranty, the SanDisk Extreme III SDHC 30MB/s Edition cards will be available for purchase in the US market by this September. The 4 GB card costs $64.99 (approx. Rs. 2,850), 8 GB for $109.99 (approx. Rs. 4,825), and 16 GB for $179.99 (approx. Rs. 7,895).
