Nvidia unveils Quadro FX 4800 Graphics Card for Mac

Recently, Nvidia raised the curtains off the Quadro professional graphics cards series with advanced graphics capabilities to redefine visual quality and application performance. Now, the company has announced the launch of one of the graphics cards from the product line for the Mac market.

NVIDIA rolls out the Quadro FX 4800 professional graphics card for the Mac Pro users to significantly boost their graphics performance and capabilities.

With its sophisticated GPU architecture and industry leading features, the Quadro FX 4800 goes beyond realism and offers performance to lure consumers in the field of architecture, content creation, science and medicine.

According to Jeff Brown, General Manager, Professional Solutions, Nvidia, “Some of the world’s most challenging visual computing problems are solved on the Mac platform. The Quadro FX 4800 provides the power and speed to meet these demanding requirements.”

Particularly for Macs, the GPU carries a standard 3-pin stereo connector to deliver true 3D stereoscopic imaging that are decisive to many core professional Mac applications. It endows stereo glass support with up to two dual-link DVI digital connectors for highest resolution digital displays.

Moreover, the Quadro FX 4800 GPU for Mac provides a 1.5GB frame buffer and memory bandwidth up to 76.8 GB/sec to deliver interactive visualization of large models and Nvidia’s CUDA parallel computing architecture for high-performance image.

This graphics card also ensures high-performance for real time processing of large textures and frames as well as the highest quality and resolution with full-scene antialiasing (FSAA). It even has Apple’s Boot Camp support, enabling access to accelerated professional Windows 3D graphics performance and features.

The Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 GPU for Mac carries a price tag of $1,799 (approx. Rs. 90,600) and is scheduled to hit the markets in May via Apple.com, select Apple resellers and workstation integrators. Apart from the above-mentioned sources, it can be purchased through NVIDIA channel partners as well.
