Samsung I7500 Android based mobile phone

Samsung I7500 Android Phone Samsung has launched an all new Android powered I7500 mobile phone. It is said to be Samsung’s first ever Android based phone.

The smartphone features 3.2” AMOLED touchscreen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity. This allows users full access to all suits of Google like Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, and Google Talk.

“Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance and has been actively moving forward to introduce the most innovative Android mobile phone,” said JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Communication Division in Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung’s accumulated technology leadership in mobile phone industry and our consistent strategy to support every existing operating system, I believe that Samsung provides the better choices and benefits to our consumers”

The phone includes various features like 5 megapixel camera, 1500mAh battery, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Micro USB, 3.5mm ear jack and 8 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB. The device supports various multimedia formats like MPEG4, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, H.263, H.264, WMV, MP3, WMA and RA. The display is said to ensure a superior full touch mobile experience. The phone flaunts a slim and compact look with 11.9mm thickness.

The integrated GPS receiver allows users to use several features of Google Maps including My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, Local Search and detailed route description. It also enables the use of hundreds of other applications available in the Android market.

Samsung I7500 will be available for purchase in major European countries from June 2009.
