Motorola extends ROKR family with MOTO ROKR E8 Handset

MOTO ROKR E8 Motorola has announced the launch of its latest mobile phone, dubbed MOTO ROKR E8, expanding the very popular music entertainment series of mobile phone – the ROKR family.

Being one of the best devices for music entertainment, this handset boasts its unique features that include ModeShift technology that transforms the device from phone to music player by just a button; Innovative haptics technology to offer tactile response when a virtual key is pressed; FastScroll navigation wheel for easy scrolling of songs by the flick of a thumb; Patented CrystalTalk technology, which provides superb call clarity even in noisy environments; and Windows Media Player 11 compatibility for easy and quick transfer of tunes from the PC to the device.

MOTO ROKR E8 phone is quad-band GPRS/EDGE compliant and comes with an integrated FM radio and support for Song ID2, a 2 GB onboard memory with up to 4 GB optional microSD card, USB 2.0 connectivity for music transfers and 2.0-inch QVGA display. It also has attributes like a three-dimensional stereo function to advance two-channel audio and an on-board equalizer, a built-in speaker, Bluetooth enabled stereo headset and the 3.5mm jack.

It is compatible with various file formats such as MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WMA, WAV, AMR-NB and Real Audio (RA) v10.

Consumers have the freedom to receive calls while downloading or playing music, text messaging, internet browsing or capturing beautiful moments. Now comes the interesting part of the phone, when the ROKR E8 is powered off, the surface becomes smooth and no keys are visible. And as soon as the power is switched on, it shows off a virtual numbered keypad on the front surface.

Moreover, on pressing the virtual music key, the phone keypad is not seen and the control keys for the music player, including play, pause, fast forward and rewind, are on the surface.

Motorola’s MOTO ROKR E8 music phone is currently available for a suggested price of $360 (approx. Rs. 15,450).
